Legends of Washington Bluegrass
Fairley Sparks
Fairley Sparks is the real deal, a genuine semi-sophisticated, dyed-in-the-wool, entertaining, fun-to-listen-to hillbilly. He also plays a fine resophonic guitar, too, and has been entertaining people throughout the Washington for years. Born and raised in West Virginia, Fairley has played with Jerry Lee Lewis, Conway Twitty, and Ferlin Husky. He also plays the drums and is a pretty good bus driver, I hear. Fairley's hobby is drinking coffee, sometimes as many as 17 cups per day. If you see him-ask how he got his nickname "Pinky".
His recent release "Sit Down Guitar" highlights his great playing. He has also released a record with the legendary Junior Barber, and has produced albums for Kenny Baker and Josh Graves. He was a recent contributor to the "Resophonics Anonymous" project, and is a staunch supporter of Alan Keyes for president. His favorite radio personalities are G. Gordon Liddy and Rush Limbaugh.
