Marty Lepore, a.k.a. Dr.
Slide, has been playing Dobro in the northwest for over twenty years. He has
been in a long list of notable Seattle bands. They include Rainy City Ramblers,
Blue Ridge Express, The New Subterraneans, The Slide Brothers, Lost in the Mail,
The Bluegrass Superheroes, Runaway Train, The Ramsey-Collins Band, and for
almost forever, The Potbelly Boys. He has recorded on a few albums with a
variety of Seattle artists. They include Rielly and Maloney, The OkieDoke Band,
Neal Woodall, and Ballard native son Kevin Wallace.
Currently, Dr. Slide
performs occasionally with The Potbelly Boys (J.F. Lewis, Rachel Gould and Dr.
Slide).
Lepore's original
selection, Icicle Creek, was written on the drive home to Seattle
from a concert in Leavenworth, Washington featuring Jerry Douglas, Russ
Barenburg and Edgar Meyer.
