Burkett "Uncle Josh" Graves
1927-2006
The KING of the dobro.
The world has lost a great man.
Burkett "Uncle Josh" Graves has been credited with "singlehandedly rescuing the dobro from oblivion", and that is probably true. Anyone who has ever played a guitar on their lap owes a debt of gratitude to this kind gentleman. A member of Flatt and Scruggs seminal bluegrass band, he cracked the elite ranks of the 5 man bluegrass band, and made the world come to love the whine.
